If you've ever received a restraining order — or as you call them, "love notes" — you may want to skip this tutorial. The last tutorial shows how to use The Harvester to capture emails throughout the internet for domains that you specify.
This takes it a notch further, showing how you can take those email addresses and extrapolate that into a massive amount of information about your target, including social networking profiles, phone numbers, registered domains, other linked email address, etc.
Again, this is using publicly available information so nothing you're doing is illegal; however, I do caution that you use this information wisely and not for malicious harm. Say, for instance, your target is a company from which you want to find online links. Those links may show the IP address and location of their email server. I wonder what someone could do with a bunch of emails siphoned from a company's server... maybe we should ask Sony?
What You Will Need

- Maltego (included in Kali Linux)
